Capito Responds To Latest Jobs Numbers Released By Department Of Labor
2/3/12
“Today’s jobs numbers signify that the economy is heading in the right direction, but unemployment still remains unacceptably high. We have the opportunity to drive unemployment even lower if the President would work with Congress to pass job-creating policies like the Keystone XL pipeline.
“We have a chance to get it right.
“House Republicans introduced the American Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act this week. The largest transportation reform bill since the 1956 creation of the Interstate Highway System, this plan supports and creates jobs for Americans, particularly in the construction, transportation and energy sectors. It will put people to work immediately and in the long term.
“Thousands of jobs depend on this legislation, and I hope Senate Democrats and the President will help us pass this long-term bill as soon as possible.”
